The of the University of Athens is divided into five Sections: Solid State, Nuclear and Particle Physics, Astronomy/Astrophysics and Mechanics, Environment and Electronics.
The Section of Nuclear and Particle Physics has several experimental teams which participate in the main experiments at ( , and ) and theoretical teams which study the structure of matter, the fundamental forces etc.
The teaching of Physics is done in both the undergraduate and graduate level, leading to the B.S, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. The Physics Department , which is the largest in the country, has about 350 first year undergraduate students.
&Բ;του&Բ; αποτελείται από πέντε Τομείς, οι οποίοι εκτελούν τόσο ερευνητικό όσο και διδακτικό έργο. Οι Τομείς είναι Στερεάς Καταστάσεως, Πυρηνικής Φυσικής και Στοιχειωδών Σωματιδίων, Αστρονομίας, Αστροφυσικής και Μηχανικής, Περιβάλλοντος και Ηλεκτρονικής.
Ο Τομέας Πυρηνικής Φυσικής και Στοιχειωδών Σωματιδίων έχει πειραματικές ερευνητικές ομάδες, οι οποίες συμμετέχουν στα κύρια πειράματα του &Բ;στο&Բ; ( , , ) και θεωρητικές ομάδες οι οποίες ασχολούνται με έρευνα πάνω στην δομή της ύλης, την υπερσυμμετρία κτλ.
Η διδασκαλία της Φυσικής γίνεται τόσο σε προπτυχιακό επίπεδο, όσο και . Οι σπουδές οδηγούν στο Πτυχίο, στο Μ.Δ.Ε. και στο Διδακτορικό Δίπλωμα. Το Τμήμα Φυσικής, το οποίο είναι το μεγαλύτερο της χώρας έχει περίπου 350 πρωτοετείς φοιτητές. Πληροφορίες σχετικές με το προπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα εκπαίδευσης δίδονται στο .
