Research at our Physics Institute focuses on problems and ideas related to electroweak interactions in particle physics. Mainly addressed to theoretical physics we currently study tau lepton, top quark and neutrino physics.
Besides, in our Institute also research is being done in quantum gravity, statistical mechanics and fluids physics. Also, we have a group on experimental ultrasound physics.
The ideas of nuclear and particle physics and also the technology of high energy physics finds its application in a medical physics group related to ionizing radiation applications in medical imagnenology, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and radiation protection.
Currently, master and doctorate degrees are under way in our Institute in many areas in Physics.
Our group is in charge of several courses at the graduate and postgraduate level.
La investigación en FÃsica de PartÃculas en el Instituto de FÃsica está orientada principalmente a las interacciones electro-débiles. Nuestro trabajo es teórico, y se dedica a la fenomenologÃa de las interacciones fundamentales. En particular hemos trabajado en la fÃsica del tau, fÃsica de top y, más recientemente, en la fÃsica de neutrinos.
En nuestro Instituto de FÃsica también se desarrollan investigaciones en gravitación cuántica, fÃsica de fluidos y mecánica estadÃstica, mientras que el principal grupo experimental se dedica a ultrasonido.
A partir de nuestro grupo de FÃsica de Altas EnergÃas ha surgido el grupo que trabaja en FÃsica Médica.
Se realizan corrientemente posgrados a nivel de maestrÃa y doctorado en las diversas áreas, y estamos a cargo de cursos de grado y posgrado.
