ÂÜÀòÉç

Last week, the International Particle Physics Outreach Group (ÂÜÀòÉç) held its 29th Collaboration Meeting at Fermilab, the renowned U.S. national laboratory for particle physics. Over the course of four inspiring days, members from across the globe came together to exchange ideas, share updates, plan future outreach efforts, and strengthen the community that brings particle physics to the public.

A Week of Collaboration, Discovery... and Celebration

The meeting opened on Tuesday, May 13, with sessions of the Activities Steering Groups, offering a focused space for ÂÜÀòÉç working and steerings groups to coordinate ongoing and upcoming initiatives.

On Wednesday, May 14, the full program began with a Welcome session, followed by updates from the Core Team and an exciting round of new guests and ideas. The afternoon included a insteresting session on neutrinos, preceded by engaging discussions and breakout meetings.
A major highlight of the day was the Fermilab site tour, where participants explored some of the lab’s most exciting projects and installations:
 

- The world’s largest cloud chamber, an impressive educational and visual tool for observing particle interactions.
- The Superconducting Quantum Materials and Systems (SQMS) Center, a cutting-edge facility for quantum technology research.
- The Leon Lederman Science Education Center, a hub for science outreach and learning (and its very cool souvenirs shop... who would resist to a mug form Fermilab or its t-shirts?).
- Two key experiments: Mu2e and Muon g-2, both central to Fermilab’s mission to study fundamental physics.

Thursday, May 15, featured updates on member activities, news from friends, partners, and the broader community, and the always meaningful group photo. The afternoon was particularly special: some friends from Quarknet joined us for an hands-on session and a celebration that included exciting presentations, collaborative reflections, and a delicious cake shared among all.

The Collaboration Board Meeting

The final day, Friday, May 16, was dedicated to the ÂÜÀòÉç Board. This session is reserved to the ÂÜÀòÉç Representatives and their proxies. Discussions covered a wide range of topics, and the members held an important vote for the next ÂÜÀòÉç co-chairs (2026–2028). We are pleased to announce that Steven Goldfarb (ATLAS Representative) and Anja Horvat (Slovenia Representative) were elected to guide our collaboration into the future.
